According to the Olympia Olympian, the Gulf of Mexico oil spill is attracting another kind of potential disaster: investment fraud. Federal officials are warning investors to be wary of so-called “pump and dump” stock schemes tied to the BP oil spill. (See item 21) Federal officials have arrested an Army intelligence analyst who boasted of giving classified U.S. combat video and hundreds of thousands of classified State Department records to whistleblower site Wikileaks, Wired.com reports. The suspect, a 22 year-old army specialist from Potomac, Maryland, was stationed at Forward Operating Base Hammer, 40 miles east of Baghdad, where he was arrested nearly two weeks ago by the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division.
