1. What is the most useful thing you have discovered thus far in your course?
The most useful thing I have discovered is there is a wealth of information out there and my job is to figure out how to access it. Your on line program gave me all the tools to access this information. I was able to link onto virtually any topic of interest and had other information that I had not even thought of come to the forefront. Which lead me to new Ideas and better understandings of existing ones.
2. What is different about the way we are learning in this course? Most of you have typical on ground course experience and you are taking courses from other instructors through UI&U. What is different about this hybrid tutorial/online module of instruction?
What is different are many things, to start I have never taken an on line class before. So this may sound odd but I had a rough time with this course granted in ways it’s far soupier then being on a time table with scheduled demands, out putting a weekly home work assignment such as in a class room setting. I guess I always thought of my self as computer literate but boy did this open my eyes. You really are put to the challenge trying to figure out if you’re on the write page. I spent many hours on topics that were not related to my course. I felt overwhelmed with all the information however, grateful for the experience.

Hi Jose
I'm actually enjoying these on line classes because for me, it is so much easier than sitting in a classroom waisting valuable time.
Take Care!

Lt. Foster's class has substantially increased my knowledge in the terrorism field. I feel that I am better prepared to both recognize and handle a terrorist situation should I ever be plunged into handling one. It also provides a wake up call in the fact that we, in the law enforcement field, do not receive enough training to be effective when terrorist act happens. We will always find a way to power through the problem but the more knowledge we have the better prepared we will be and maybe, just maybe, we can stop it before it happens.
This class also goes hand in hand with my Current Issues in Law Enforcement class. Terrorism is obviously a current issue and I will pass on what I am learning to others in my career field.

I can relate not wanting to sit in a classroom. Although sometimes I do think it is good to bounce ideas off of one another, just to get other perspectives on the topics. Hope this was a good semester for you. I am sure we will talk again before our Union tour is out.
Good luck,
Bobby

I am not sure if this was intended for me however, I do agree that bouncing off ideas with other people enhances ones knowledge. As terrorism goes there is a wealth of information and a constant need to be prepared before you may have to come across the in evadible. Like you said we in the Law Enforcement are lacking when it comes to training in this matter. The Knowledge is out there we just need to be willing to take heed to it. This has been a truly interesting experience and I wish you the best in your educational goals.

1. How does what you have learned thus far apply to your career?
In the class I am taking: "Terrorism and Law Enforcement" the class has a great deal to do with my career. Since I am in the law enforcment field the opportunity exists for me to utilize what I have learned in this class on a professional level
2. How does this course integrate with your other or previous course work?
This course integtates quite well with my previous course work. I am working towards my degree in criminal justice management. In obtaining my degree this will make me more marketable in the ever increasing field of criminal justice in the private sector.
