I agree with your posting. I really thought the presentations were a good source of information

All Union Institute and University Fall 2009

(Includes Session I, Session II and Semester Learners)

You must make two posts to receive full credit.

You have completed an undergraduate course! What part of what you learned are you going to incorporate into what you will train those who follow you?

I would have to agree with many of the other learners.  The websites, and the presentations that the students made were great.  As the students were giving their presentation, I was putting check marks on the handouts, knowing that I would refer to them again.  It was nice to gather so much information in such a short amount of time.

You make a great point when you mentioned experiencing something for yourself as opposed to going to the department expert for help.  This class gave us a good chunk of information that we can take back to our departments.

I never realized how broad of a term terrorism was and how much more often it occurs than one would think. This course opened my eyes to a world of policing that I didn't even realize existed. It is also amazing how we as police officers, even in a small way can have an impact on terrorism. It is this ideology that I will pass on to future students and future partners.

Nunu,

I agree! With all that we have learned and are prepared for and continue to prepare for there is one element that seems to never get mentioned and you brought it up. Like you, I hope we never have to deal with terrorism again especially like the acts on September 11. There is no real way we can be free from terrorism but through applying hard work, utilizing knowledge, and educating all members of society (not just law enforcement) we can hope to prevent the majority of horrible attacks planned in the future.
