1. Homicide kit - 12 coffees, equal number of donuts
2. sinkers, fat pills - donuts...sinkers are plain cake donuts appropriate for dunking in the coffe.
3. Duck - abandon stolen vehicle
4. Hot Roller - stolen vehicle driving on the street. Also, known as a G-ride...for GTA or grand theft auto (g-ride can be a duck, too)
5. Adam Henry - Aggressive and Hostile suspect, or an AssHole. Watch the erasers fly on this one....if someone taught you to write "the suspect was aggessive and hostile..." well, the sub-text is critical.
6. Dragon - as in drag queen, man dressed as a women - enough said.
7. Rubber side - as in "keep the rubber side down" usually said when someone is overdriving causing them to lose traction and potentially roll the car.
8. cruiser, black and white (insert your colors), ride, chariot, sled, etc.....the police car.
9. Tracks - puncture wounds left by intravenous heroin use....as in "the hype had more tracks than the santa fe railroad." Oh, hype - heroin addict as in hypodermic needle.
10. Bird Dog - a sergeant that unnecessarily follows police officers from call to call...as in "The sergeant was bird dogging me."

| Chasing the drag is a technique for smoking heroin. It usually involves placing powdered heroin on tin foil and heating it from below with a candle or lighter. The heroin (or so I am told) will liquify and wiggle around like a small snake, worm or dragon. The addict then uses rolled up newspaper, magazine, or something like that to inhale the smoke.

| I'm going to sneak "Aggressive and Hostile" into my next incident report. We'll see if anyone notices!

| For those in California there is always 5149 1/2 - for some one who is crazy, but not quite crazy enough to take to the mental hospital

POLICE SLANG – The Test
Find out your level of police expertise. There are only 20 questions so that SWAT officers can participate (if they take their shoes off). Caution – things aren’t always as they seem:
- Tail
- Cement Head
- Ghettalope
- Yard Bird
- Ghetto Bird
- Poo Butt
- 10-23
- UC
- OP
- Bucket Head
- Frankster
- Badge Heavy
- Tube
- Rump Roaster
- KMA
- Duce
- Ghost Ride
- Rabbi
- ETOH
- Mary Jane
Scoring:
18-20 Correct: You are a BCGF. Subtract 2 points if you don’t know what a BCGF is, add 2 points if you do.
15-18 Correct: You have a beat cop’s knowledge of police slang.
12-15 Correct: You are pushing a black and white around, with a little more exposure you can become a BCGF.
8-12 Correct: Clearly, a rookie.
5-8 Correct: You are a “wanna be”
Four or less Correct: You are badge bunny. You need a different kind of exposure to law enforcement.
PS – you get two extra points for reposting……

Answers:
Tail – As in “How long is your tail?” Refers to the length of parole left on a convict; sometimes used to describe the length of probation, also.
Cement Head – A police officer, generally a SWAT or tactical team officer who has a supreme focus on physical fitness and tactics.
Ghettalope – Packs of dogs that run through urban areas, typically late at night and for some reason they are more prevelant on weekends.
Yard Bird – Chicken. As in “How about some yard bird for dinner?”
Ghetto Bird – the police helicopter. Also, airship, air unit, eyes in the sky, sky pig
Poo Butt – generally a “wanna be” juvenile gang member. However, more broadly any, young juvenile offender involved in minor nuisance crimes.
10-23 – For the 10th and 23rd letters of the alphabet – W and T, or White Trash
UC – Undercover officer
OP – a police “observation post” used as the primary surveillance point during a fixed location surveillance. During a rolling surveillance, the primary point is called “the point.” The unit designation is dropped so that surveillance team members know that radio transmissions are coming from a unit with “eyes on” the target. Therefore, “1A12, target is westbound 1st, crossing Main,” becomes “Point, target is westbound 1st, crossing main.”
Bucket Head – A motorcycle police officer. The bucket is the helmet they wear. The are identifiable off-duty by the permanent “helmet hair.”
Frankster – from the phonetic alphabet for “F” – Frank. Frank means felony, ergo a frankster is a felony suspect or felony arrest.
Badge Heavy – refers to a police officer, generally sometime in their first seven years, that is overly impressed with having a badge. They tend to expect everyone else to be just as impressed and they can be overly forceful, both verbally and physically. You grow out of this.
Tube – Most commonly the police shotgun, but can mean any shotgun. Rifles are long-guns, etc.
Rump Roaster – a vice term for offenders who rub their genitalia against other people; sometimes exposed and sometimes not. Generally occurs in crowded location and is much more common than you would think; now you know why cops hate crowds.
KMA – as in “The victim is KMA.” Means the victim is dead. Refers to the old frequency allocation by the FCC given to LAPD. Every long broadcast, through the late 1980s was suppose to end with “KMA 367” meaning you had finished broadcasting and were giving the FCC frequency/assigned station identifier. Was shortened to KMA….meaning “its over.”
Duce - As in, “he was booked duce.” Combines the card “2” or the duce, and the old California penal code section for drunk driving 502. Like everything else, 502 was shortened to duce…..it makes more sense that you have 2 duces….than two twos…I suppose. (note: The vehicle code section is used for DUI today)
Ghost ride – at the end of some police chases the suspect jumps out of the car while it is still in gear and sends the car driverless on a “ghost ride.”
Rabbi – a mentor and/or protector within the organization.
ETOH – the chemical symbol for alcohol. As in, “She’s ETOH.” Or, under the influence of alcohol.
Mary Jane – Marijuana….for the M and J in it, also known as pot, weed, grass, smoke, 13, and whatever else.
Note: That BCGF is “Big City Gun Fighter.” And, a badge bunny is a police groupie.

There are tons more than you can add to it, if you just happen to be in NYC.
Off the top of my head:
Pail, as in pail of shit, term for a useless piece of shit cop.
East Cupcake or Cupcake east, meaning from Suffolk County Long Island, or even upstate NY. Cops who come in from the rural life to work in the city.
Shithouse lawyer: Perp who thinks he knows exactly what the laws are in his favor.
Perp: Bad guy, perpetrator, evil doer, actor etc.
Skel: short for skeleton, meaning junky, druggie, get the term from looking like a skeleton.
Bus: Ambulance
RMP: radio motor patrol, i.e. police car
REP: Radio emergency patrol, i.e. police esu (emergency services truck, NYPD version of SWAT).
Boss: Any supervisor.
deuce five: .25 caliber gun.
Fly: To move an officer to another command or detail.
In the bag, back in the bag: To be bounced back to uniform from a detail.
There are a couple, got tons more if you want em.
Mike
PS
Thanx for the bulletins, very informative.
