I work in Corrections and have been in this field for 3 years now and love it, however I'm looking to find a book on interview techniques as an aid in gaining information from inmates. Inmates have their own "code of silence" in which they are extremely evasive on giving up information for fear of retaliation from other inmates or being labeled as a "snitch."

Are there any books out there written by corrections personal on interview techniques when dealing with inmates? I think a book on interview techniques from the FBI would also be helpful and may work as well with these guys. Do you guys have anything to recommend?

One of the most comprehensive, semi-commerical sites is:

http://www.corrections.com/index.aspx

Go to their library and training sections and search..

Also,

There is a ton of good, and free, stuff at the Bureau of Justice Assistance online library

 http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/BJA/pubs/index.html

There, I would use search terms like corrections, gangs, drugs, etc.
