In the Management of Criminal Justice Information Systems course, I learned how fragmentation negatively affects law enforcement. This occurs for a number of reasons, but political control appears to be a significant factor. Lack of communication between agencies is one example of fragmentation.
It was interesting to see how many non-profit organizations support law enforcement efforts. These organizations provide free intelligence on their Websites that can be used by law enforcement and the public. An example of this is the Law Enforcement Agency Resource Network Website that provides information on extremist groups.
This was a great class that clearly explained the history of technology in law enforcement.

I just finished The Role of Criminal Justice in Terrorism. I learned more about the role law enforcement plays in terrorism (go figure). Specifically, I learned the most about the terrorist organization Hamas, since that was my topic for the semester project. I would like to have explored the investigation of terrorism deeper. The readings were very good as well. I didn't know there were so many documents available on the internet. This is a topic I would enjoy researching further.

| I agree there is so much information out there on terrorism. There are so many different forms of terrorism that people need to be aware about. There is so much reading out there and a lot that people should take advantage of this information. This class has taught me a lot about other countries, that I was not aware of. People should take terrorist threats very serious, it is really sad to think of what some people go through in other countries and in the U.S. Terrorism has a broad definition and it is just not just in other countries it exists here everyday. People need to be aware of it and be taught how to protect themselves against it.

| I have learned a lot about terrorism in this course. What I would like study in the near future are ways to combat terrorism. I understand the reason on terrorism when it becomes to protecting people, however some cultures are opposite of democracy and it sadness me, that the innocent are affected by these extreme beliefs.

In the Police technology course I was able to learn about community policing, fragmentation, street technology and much more. The exams and the book work was not easy, however, it was very educational.
I was able to challenge some of my supervisors with the information and technology that is out there to assist us in fighting crime and so far I have gotten a great responds from all them.
I found the "street technology" chapter the most interesting due to the equipment I use with my k9. There is always new trchnology coming out to make police k9s better. This is my last couse before graduating and I want to thank Professor Foster for all his help over the last 2 years. I will never forget it...

I could not agree with you more. I believe that more communication between agencies is so important. I also feel that any type of joint training would be a good way to start up a good working relationship with other departments.

This is true we are not just a family in our own department, we are working for a coal common goal. Technology is wonderful and Lt. Foster is good about pointing this out to us and exposing us to avenues that could help us in our future. Good luck in your future endeavors.
