I concur about how the professor gets you engaged in class; that was the fun part.

Hi everyone.  Well, I really enjoyed CJ.315 and the way professor Foster taught the class.  I learned a lot from professor Foster and I liked when he brought in real life situations to teach the topics and make his points.  I learned that probable cause and reasonable suspicion are the two important components that make an arrest a good arrest.  An officer needs to know when to use probable cause or reasonable suspicion to make the right arrest, and I feel that professor Foster explained these two topics extremely well.  I think the most interesting part of the course for me was the website presentation.  I enjoyed looking through the website that was assigned to me, and putting a presentation together to present to my classmates.  It was the first time I did a website presentation.  I would have liked to talk more about police corruption, and see why their is so much of police corruption in todays agencies.

Hi mdelgado.  I agree with you that professor Foster did teach a lot of police technology and how it had evolved.  I also liked that he taught us a lot of police tactics and brough his own experiences from his police work into the class to share with us, that was fun.

I really enjoyed the course and I feel that I have learned a lot in this class. Not only was the information useful it was presented in a interesting way. I liked the time spent talking about current issues and events in the criminal justice system of today. I also like the in depth look at how a person becomes an offender. Thanks for a great semester.

Hello learners,

I highly recommended you guys to take computer crime, if you get an opportunity.  This course has help me become more aware and secure with my personal information.  During this class I was required to read a book by the  named of ,"The Blue Nowhere" by Jeffery Deaver.  If I didn't have this class, I would have never understood the book.  The book deals with computer hacking, murders, a computer crime scene and social engineering.  I really recommend this book and this course.  Have a great summer learners.

adios amigos.....

I really enjoyed this class as well.  The best part for me was the terms and vocabulary it helped me understand computers better.  Computer crime is all over the place.  I found it very applicable to my current assignment, investigator who backs up the computer fraud desk.  Steganography was the most interesting thing to me.  It made me look at information being sent to me in a whole different light.  The readings were interesting and very easy to understand.   I recommend it for everyone.

This class was very educational.  It really opened my mind to how big computer crime has become and how potentially vulnerable we are to attacks through the use of computers.  The most interesting part of the class was learning about streganography.  I find myself looking at web pages now wondering if hidden messages are present.  There really wasn't anything  I didn't like about the class.  It was about 90% new information and very interesting and practical.

Mbarron,

I also enjoyed this class and the vocabulary related to computer crime will help while investigating crimes involving computers.  Like you, I too, learned a great deal about steganography and found it very interesting.  I recently saw two computer guru's being interviewed on a news channel and they were using some terms I learned while taking this class that otherwise I wouldn't of known the meaning....pretty cool

good luck,

Jkeen

This course was the best class I have taken so far at Union Istitute!  Although in the beginning I wasn't sure how I was going to finish all the requirements, I found myself wanting to learn more!   The website Professor Foster has provided is an excellent resource and well put together!  All the topics discussed are relevant in my career and personal life!  I feel I have gained such a better insight about all the computer crimes and technology!  Thanks for a great class!

This class was very different from any other I've ever taken, becuase it really forced you to think about how the computer criminal really works and the technology behind it.  The assignments we did will also prepare you do do better in other cousres as well.

I found myself really haveing to think in this course because technolgy is definely a weak point for me. But what I've found is that there is a lot of never ending information  in the computer crime field and no end to what criminals will do with technology.  It seems as if  computer technology is where the next battles for our country are going to fought.  I'm thankful that this course gave me some insight into computer miscreants that I did not have prior to the cousre.
