Hello

Hello there!
My name is Lillian, I am a peace officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.  Currently I am part of a transition team establishing a new Division.  My educational goal is to attain an M.A.   My expectations from the Criminal Justice Management Information Course is to learn as much as possible about the social impact of technology and information systems available to solve and predict crime.  :)

Hello Lt.

I used to live in Glendale, lovely City.  I love The Americana.  Hopefully this will not result in more property crime for you guys.  I recently received a call from my mother.  She was stranded at the park with her three grandchildren.  Luckily for her one of your Sergeants came to her aid.  She was extremely frustrated since the kids were hungry and tired.  I cannot tell you how grateful my brother (also in a police officer) and I are.  She was so complementary of the service he provided.   What would be the most effective way to write him a commendation and where do I send it?  He truly went above and beyond and beyond.  (LA)

Yes Todd,

All you have to do is send an email to the instructor requesting it.  I would forward it to you, but I deleted the e-mail.  :(

Be safe and remain balanced! :dude:

My name is Lauralee and I have worked at the Santa Monica Police Department for 19 years. I currently work in Community Relations/Crime Prevention. I am in Raymond Foster's Police Technology class. Previously, I read his "Leadership, Texas Hold'em Style," which is a great book because the poker analogies make it so much more interesting than a regular text book.

I am far behind everyone in gettng myselft introduced.  I am a union institute student attempting to complete my BS degree.  I work as a patrol officer in the central valley, Tulare County area.  One of the most poverty stricken areas in California.  I am still a baby in the field of law enforcment in that I have only been on the streets for 3 years.  I love what I do!

Hi...Santa Monica?

I love the area..I especially love OC.  I am actually looking to relocate, any advise?  I really want to find a department that is accepting of women in law enforcement.  I know that times have changed, but some departments are still behind.  Would love to hear your view on things in your area.  Good Depts, areas, Etc.

Here is my second introduction...this style of online work is new to me.  I work full time as a patrol officer in the central valley.  It's very hot here now, 110 degrees!  In a uniforma and vest it's almost impossible to maintain a comfortable level of coolness.  I love what I do and enjoy learning.  I am a student at union university and only have Mr. Foster's classes left to complete my degree.  I have to admit, I am having a hard time staying on top of things.  Kudos to all of you that are on here bettering yourselfs and your career!

Santa Monica is a great department with A LOT of opportunity for all. We are always short of women in patrol! Two of the three officers in our Personnel & Training Unit are women and would be a great resource for you. We just posted a short recruitment video on our website, go to santamonicapd.org and check out the links.
The City of Santa Monica is a great area, we have a little of everything but it is very expensive. Unfortunately most employees live anywhere from 30 - 75  miles away. My contact info is also on the website. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

My name is Tom and I am taking the terrorism class this semester.  I am looking forward to the research assignments.  I have been employed as an officer for the state for almost 15 years.  I am currently in an investigative unit and have recently taken the Sergeants test.  I know that that this furthering of my education will help me out in the oral and on the job.

OK either I am lost and screwed because I am not on the right area of the site or maybe I just don't understand the assignment.  I just got back into town from vacation and thought that I had to make two postings a week.  Since I did not do it last week when I was gone I thought I had better do it now. But I can not find a recent postings. So if any of you kids in the Brea class read this can you point me in the right direction. (how the hell did I get to be 48, a lieutenat at a major sheriff's department and can not figure out the simplest things?........that is retorical and does not need to be answered).  and hey group if I was suppose to do something for us please let me know............... Dale

Hey, I work for a small, but busy South Bay PD. I'm currently an investigator working property crimes.  I, like others, plan to get my degree in order to promote, and more importantly achieve a sense of accomplishment.

Hello,

I am currently enrolled in the Arcadia CJM 410 class with Instructor Raymond Foster, MPA. I have 17 years of Law Enforcement and am extremely interested in computer forensics. "Police Technology" is very interesting to read and reafirms what I learned in previous computer classes.

Chris,

I took the Contemperary issues class already but will be in the Management class with you. The contemperary class was a lot of fun. I don't have the syllabus anymore but you will be doing research paper and a couple of other short papers. I do not recall their being a text.
