| I guess this is the place to introduce yourself. I have never posted before. My name is Jeff Hart and have been a police officer with LAPD for 24 years. It has been twenty-one years since I last attended any college, looking forward to working with my fellow classmates at Davis and earning my degree.

Hello to all,
My name is Jim Madia. I work for Inglewood Police Department where I currently hold the rank of lieutenant. This is my 24th year in law enforcement. I am currently assigned as the executive officer of the Office of Patrol Services where I'm responsible for a staff of about 150 sworn and civilian employees. I am also the C.O. of the Emergency Response Team. I stay real busy with a weekly schedule of 60+ hours at work and finding time for school will be a challenge.
I'm back in school to fulfill a goal of finishing my undergraduate degree. When I retire, I want to have choices. Three of my children are in college right now so I guess it's a family thing.

| It's actually kind of cool that we're doing it at the same time. When the kids come over, we always have much to talk about. They're all over the map. My oldest is a psychology major and her younger sister is pre-med with a minor in public health. My son is a business major, but his real major is offensive line and special teams. The girls are straight A's. The boy is straight to the football field and maybe some studying when time allows. Typical!

Tom,
I noticed that you've worked for LAPD over 23 years, but what's your current assignment?
