I'm employed by Irwindale PD  which is a small town in La County. We are made up  primarily of  commercial or work force population of 96,000 during the day and only 1450 actual resident  population. I've worked most every detail. Currently I am responsible for training. We are surrounded by active gangs of all affiliations.

Hello, my name is Larry. I have been in law enforcment for 23 years. I am still trying to complete by degree and hope to have it done around the end of 2006. I manage a detective bureau which includes a high tech crime investigator. This class and the last class I took from Raymond Foster will help me as we develop our program to fight ID theft, etc.

Hi, My name is Mike. I have been in law enforcement for about ten years and currently work in the California Bay Area. I have served in Patrol, K-9, Youth Services, Detectives and as a supervisor. I am married with two boys and enjoy martial arts, weightlifting, reading, and going to the coast.

After attending community college very part time for a few years, I decided it was time to get my BA. I have already taken a math class here and I'm looking very forward to learning more about computer crime. I think that this course will be very beneficial to my work as computer crimes are becoming much more dominant and frequent.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi Justin,

I grew up in Kings County, so I'm very familar with Hanford. I did a ride-a-long  at HPD about twelve years ago with Brent Stalker (Now a Sgt at Fresno SO) and met alot of the guys. Hanford seems like a good town to be a cop in as there is alot to do there, especially with the gangs. Take care

jlutz: My name is Dan. In answer to your question I'm taking PUA490. I've been employed by Irwindale PD for 4 years,Arcadia for 9 and Oceanside PD prior to that. I guess I'm kind of a gypsy. I am responsible for training as my current assignment. Taser, hand gun, automatic weapons and all kinds of less than lethal options. I hope you do well in your career.  There is no higher calling than Law enforcement, and the people are the best.

hello everyone.  My name is Brandon and I am certainly new at this and not very computer literate.  I have been in law enforcement for over 7 years now.  I spent my first 6 in kansas city, mo and now work for the ventura police dept.  It is certainly nice to be back in California, and now have the time to go back to school.  I am taking the police technology class to start, so any imput would be certainly appreciated.   Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Hi probunion, it's Chestrina checking back in. I work for juvenile hall which to me is a rewarding job because I get to work with the youth which is challenging.

I noticed you are one of the last to show an entry so, you are the chosen one. You are right, In LE education is everything these days....plus the pay raise doesn't hurt.

:DHello Pete, welcome to Union Institute & University. I hope you enjoy your courses. I know I've enjoyed myself thus far I'm learning alot about computers that I never knew before. Maybe by the end of the course I could also advance in my typing skills. I hope you receive the knowledge and understanding that's needed to progress.

Hey Dan!!! I was just wondering which dept you work for, and what do you plan to do with your degree after retirement? I guess I'm just looking for some good ideas for me.

Hi UPagent!! I'm working for LAX PD and I was just wondering how has the railroad system change since 9-11-01? At LAX it's a whole new world!! Poeple seem to be more willing to cooperate while investigating a crime or just searching their property for possible explosives. I guess they hope I search everyone that way and stop the terrorist that might be on their flight. Is it the same at Pacific union with poeple you encounter?

Stay safe, stay low, Robert (k9-7)
