This is the introduction thread for students in the following courses:

All Union Institute and University Spring/Summer 2009

(Includes Session I, Session II and Semester Learners)

You must make two posts to receive full credit.

First, introduce yourself. Remember, this is an open source forum that many people read. In general, what is your current job, the current course you are taking, your educational goals; and, what do you expect from this course. Second, once you have posted, read the other students posts, reply to at least one.

Hello I am a student at Union Institute and University. I am a police Sergeant. My major is Public Administration and I am enrolled in business-goverment-society and organizational development courses. My educational goals are to complete my BA degree and begin working on my MS degree in the fall. From my public administration courses I expect to learn more about organizational changes and development on a broader level.

Hello, I am David a Los Angeles Police, lieutenant and am currently enrolled at the Union Institute and University, working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. This session I am attending, Organizational Development and Change, and Business, Government and Society, courses. From the program I hope to gain the ability to apply critical thinking to different types of organizations and policies and styles of leadership that apply to the same. I have a goal to continue in my eduaction, towards a Masers Degree or to attend law school.

Hello everyone,

My name is Tracey and I'm a detective supervisor. I'm currently enrolled in two public administration courses and Union Institute and I'm working to obtain a BA degree. As this point, I haven't really decided what I want to get out the courses but so far I've learned a lot just getting signed on.

Hello, I am Jason Smith a Deputy Sheriff for Los Angeles County. I am currently enrolled in Organizational Development and Change, and Business, Government and Society. I hope to obtain my BS in Public Administration in the next six months and then a MS in Public Administration in the next couple years. I hope these courses will provide me with a better understanding on the elements that operate public organizations and our local and federal governments.

Hi all, I am a lieutenent with a Southern California Law Enfocement Agency. I'm enrolled in CJM 410, Criminal Justice Managment Information Systems with Raymond Foster. I will graduate the undergraduate program in August. I am planning on continuing my education in order to obtain a Master's degree for future career advancement.
