My name is Mayra and I am in the morning class. I am a junior/senior. I'm not really sure what I am, because last semester I was a nursing major but I changed my major to criminology with an option in Law Enforcement and Pre-Law. I want to go on to Law School once I graduate. Since I switched majors at the end of last semester, I'm not really sure how much longer I'll be at Fresno State. Hopefully I'll be finished soon.

A few people have asked about the paper due Tuesday:

On page 17, Q1.  About plagiarism.

Your answer to the question should, at least, reference everything you have read thus far.  How does it impact your answer?  What have you read or heard in lecture, or found on your own that supports your view.  I do want your view, but I want you to support it in a scholarly manner.  You will likely find the appendix in the book helpful in designing an answer.

Hello to all,

My name is Harris Vang and I am in the afternoon class.  I am Hmong, born and raised in Fresno, California.  After four years at CSU, Fresno, I've finally decided to commit to majoring in Criminology (Law-Enforcement).  I have about two more years left before I graduate and I plan to become a Police Officer here in my hometown afterwards.  I've decided to get an education in the field of Criminology before starting my career so that I could be ahead of the game by being wiser, have a better set of norms and values, understand and make better ethical decisions, along with making new friends that are going to be in the same field as I am.  These are my expectations after completing Crim 112.

How's it going?  My name is Harris and I am in the afternoon class.  I've never actually switched majors, but I've stepped my foot into many other majors.  I finally gave up and said to myself that there's no point in wasting time doing that, so here I am.  I am going towards Law-Enforcement but who knows, it could switch just like yours.  I am glad that you've finally found something that interests you.  Good luck in your career and I'll see you around!

Sincerely,

Harris Vang

Hi! My name is Lena and I am in the morning crim 112 class.  I am a crim major, corrections option.  I plan on working with juveniles.  Eventually I want to be a counselor.  I still have about three to four semesters of school until I get a bachelors degree.

:)      Hello, my name is Claudia Perez.  I am a 26 year old college student.  I have one cutie (my son), his name is Stevaun and he is 6.  Also, on top of that I have 2 jobs and go to school full time.  I am the oldest of 5 and I live in Mad Towm.  Oh, I am Mexican - American!!

I am at school, because I am going to get a degree in Criminology - Corrections with a Vitimology Certificate.  I am in the morning section, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I hope I get a lot of good ethical knowledge from this class.  I have not had a class that was jsut based on ethics and that sort of material.  I know I will benefit from this class in the long run and in my career.  I will have a lot of fun trying to get into class discussions, because I don't speak out load a lot.  Now, in this class it is required to add more wood to the fire for class discussions so I will.  Hey, maybe it will be fun talking to people about what I think about ethical issues.  We will see how it goes!! See ya L8rs!!

Hi all- My name is Kevin DeRose and I am a junior planning on graduating next spring. I am working toward my degree with the Law Enforcement option. As of now I am not sure exactly where I will be after graduation, but my end goal is to work Federal Law Enforcement, possibly DEA. I look forward to hearing others' opinions and views regarding the topics presented in this class.

Harris-

After four years of college, I am still not 100% sure what direction I want to aim as far as a career. One intriguing aspect of the CJ field is that it is very broad- there are so many directions one can go. Getting a degree before you go to the police academy is a great idea. Good luck with everything.
