Hi Everyone,

I too, am a new student at UI&U. I am looking forward to finishing up on my BA/BS degree. I am a retired police officer after twenty years on the job. I currently work as a fraud investigator dealing with workers' compensation fraud.

I am looking forward to obtaining my degree to see what new doors it will open in the future. I look forward to the classes and getting to know more students online.

Take care,

John

Hi John,

Like you I am a retired officer and looking to finish my degree.  If all goes well I would like to explore federal law enforcement opportunities in the future, perhaps with DHS.

Hi John,

I met you last week at Cal State Fullerton at the meeting with Mr. Capune. Thank you for the positive insight you provided regarding Union.

How are your classes coming?

Talk to you later!

Hey John,

Things are great. I am getting back into the school routine after a long break, so things are a little rough trying to readjust. Once I get into a rhythm I will be alright.

How's work?

Hope all of yours are well.

Hi Christian,

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to see how you liked your first semester at UI&U?

I actually enjoyed both my classes. It took a little while to get back into the swing of things but... I think I have a pretty good system set up for studying now.

Hope all is well with you, your family and work. Hope you're able to take Christmas off and enjoy it with you family.

Best Wishes!

John

Hi John,

Thanks for keeping in touch. This semester has been a great beginning for me here at UI&U.

I am pretty well adjusted, but can never seem to find the time when I need it most-family stuff and all. It is definitely helping me to learn to manage my time more efficiently.

I hope all is well with you and yours. Yeah, I did get Christmas off, so I can enjoy the holiday with the kids.

Take care, John

1.) How does what you have learned thus far apply to your career?

I have gained an understanding and appreciation of how technology plays an important role in the criminal law context.

2.) How does this course integrate with your other or previous course work?

I have seen examples of technology at work in my other class. They have provided me with a learning foundation from which to expand on. Some of the articles I have read for assignments in my other class also deal with technology. This has reinforced much of what I learned in this course over the last several months. I never realized how valuable technology is and can be to law enforcement.
