Stumbled across this forum via Amazon.com.  Am a student of social sciences (was criminal justice but this fits my needs better).  Planning to work in the victims services field and very interested in social policy, as well. 

Always willing to learn and figured this might be a good place to do so.

What kind of victim services are you looking to work for?  I have a friend who works for the victim of violent crimes unit for the City of Los Angeles.  She helps coordinated money that is available for victims of violent crimes.

thanks Chris.   I hope so.  I already run an online support group for survivors of abuse and have seen the lifelong effects.  I figure with education I'll be in a better spot to help....
