Staffing is a critical issue for all of us. I work for the 3rd largest city in Los Angeles County. We tend t0 average about 16-20 vacancies even though we are continually hiring. Fortunately LASD and or\ur good contract has a continuous stream of laterals.
I heard that there was 15,000 police officer vacancies statewide, so I guess we will al be short for a long while.
