Hello all, by the posts I've read about this site, especally those that said they wish they had joined it sooner, I can gladly say that I am glad that I joined early in my CJ education. I am a former employee of the Department of Corrections in Washington state. When I got the job I was unsure if I was going to like it or that I would fit in. But somehow I found my niche and ended up loving my job. I was an OAA for our community corrections officers. When my husband was PCS'd to Colorado (ARMY active duty) I had to give up my job and move. He is currently in Iraq and hopefully will be home soon. So I decided to enhance my knowladge on criminal justice by going to school while he was gone. I am currently taking my first class in criminal justice, after finishing all the other classes first. I am about to enter my sophmore year at Colorado Technical University. I am a mother of 2 lovely little girls and one challenging 10 year old son. Not to mention my 2 step children. I am a busy person and anything I can learn, I want to. So I hope to get to know some of you and gain the knowlage I'm looking for. Please If you have any advice for a beginner in criminal justice, let me know. I am eager to learn.
