The National Open Learning College has just announced the launch of the new accredited Criminology of Terrorism course. Although it starts on 1 September, clearly to go through accreditation it was devised some time ago. It is a popular course because already most of the places for the first course are taken.
The Units cover the criminology of terrorism, the psychology of terrorism, passenger profiling, indeed only one unit relates to Islamic Extremism - yet within minutes of it being launched some of the more politically correct lecturers objected to calling the course 'criminology of terrorism' because it suggested terrorists were CRIMINALS.
I was under the impression terrorists were, indeed, criminals.

| I strongly agree with you on terrorism being a criminal act. It's clearly stated in the definition on terrorism, injuries, the loss of lifes, and intent to cause physical harm and destruction to proprety or others e.t.c. .

| This course presents some very interesting topics. I'm certainly curious about the issues that are topics of study. You are going to have a strong draw of students, as long as you do not compromise the core issues of study.
