As most of American society knows, terrorism has become a new globalized scare for all countries around the world.  As the new penal code defines terrorism " acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries, use of certain weapons of mass destruction and financial transactions to finance terrorism". This definition perfectly explains how terrorism is protrayed by conventional societies.  Terrorists seek to spread their beliefs and ideologies globally by way of violence and destruction in order to place fear in the lives of citizens, governments and law enforcement.  In order to combat these radicals, we as a nation need to better equip and fund our law enforcements and military to continue the fight against terror.  However when speaking of terror from a communal perspective, we may use gangs as an example. Gangs form subcultural norms, and values that deviate from the conventional ways of American society.  They to use drug trafficking, theft and illicit arms trafficking in order for them to gain recognition and monetary satisfaction.  A prime example of this would be MS13 who have continued to battle other gangs in order to earn respect, now they have deviated from sensless acts of gang violence and have saturated themselves in terrorist acts such as trafficking in illegals from their native country of el salvador, money laundering, arms trafficking, theft and other radical components that have struck much concern for our nation.

Would it be a fair arguement, that the press and pundits give so much time to terrorism or terrorism related issues that it actually works against us?  It seems we are becoming a self terrorised country.   I know we should be prepared both personally and in government/law enforcement, but it seems when people brain storm and publish/broadcast ways that terrorists could breech our security, we may be helping them by giving them ideas and showing our vunerabilities.   Just a thought...
